Classes & Dues
We are a not-for-profit club, which allows us to keep our dues low. Instructors are volunteers who teach for the love of the art. None of our instructors are paid to teach. We do it because we love aikido and want to share it with others.
Dues are $35 a month for everyone. We charge dues to pay rent and to buy mats/equipment for the school. Occasionally, we use dues to help scholarship students to attend regional aikido seminars.

Seminars
When you become a member of our club, you will also be part of the Aikido World Alliance, our parent organization. The AWA offers seminars around the world; these gatherings of aikidoists from different dojos are usually three to five days of focused training. Our club sometimes travels to seminars as a group, making attendance even more fun and affordable.
UNCW Dojo Cho John Lothes training with Eiji Katsurada Sensei (Shihan, 6th dan). Katsurada Sensei travelled from Hombu Dojo in Japan to teach at the AWA spring seminar in Atlanta, Georgia.
